A new splice every day, with bolt groups on the flanges and web (or the four plates of a box column). Each group gets a snug pass and a final pass, and large joints need a re-tightening pass in between. Within a pass, work from the splice line toward the ends, and take the groups in their set order, or you'll have to redo it. Switching faces, switching wrenches and moving the wrench all take time; lower score wins.
